WTVR Channel 6, Richmond
WTVR TV is a CBS affiliate owned by Raycom Media. The South's first TV station, WTVR TV located on Broad Street in midtown Richmond, Virginia. In the past two years WTVR TV has invested heavily in weather equipment, most notably the purchase of DopplerMax 6 a state of the art Doppler radar located in nearby Goochland County. DopplerMax 6 is 1000 times more powerful than the other TV radar in town and has the power to detect storms as far away as South Carolina, West Virginia, or New York City.
